Eravikulam is a golden gift to the nature of Kerala and it is a wildlife sanctuary that is a safe home to unique species of animals, plants and birds. It perched 7000 ft above from sea level and breathtaking in its size and diversity of flora and fauna. A good pastime is the Lakhom Falls Trail involving a one-day trek from the waterfall to Pakkumarathery where trekkers can have a look at the Anamudi Peak and opt for an overnight stay at the Log House. The Park area also offers excellent opportunities for Rainbow Trout angling.

Five numbers in 25 species mammals those found here are endemic to the Western Ghats. Atias Moth is the largest of its kind in the world is one major attraction here. Large variety of orchids and balsams are including in the rolling grasslands at the upper parts of the valley.
